The Cast of Characters

Grunts

The least sophisticated of all the enemy robots. Grunts pursue the player until they are destroyed by a well-placed shot, or they walk over a mine (boom). Grunts use their numbers and persistence to destroy their target (you). They are spotted during every wave.

Brains

Arguably the most advanced and dangerous enemy robot. Brains will hunt down all remaining humans in the area and turn them into dangerous, mindless Progs. Brains also have a powerful laser cannon built into their body which shoots a red-hot plasma projectile that seeks out the player. To stop this projectile, the player must destroy it with the laser gun. Brains are spotted on waves divisible by 5.

Tanks

The biggest and strongest enemy Robot. Tanks are unable to be destroyed due to the unknown metal they are composed of – rumored to be Unobtanium. Luckily, they do not seem to be interested in the player or human survivors. They have an unknown mission and seem to randomly wander the area. What is their goal? You will take damage if you encounter them in close quarters. Tanks are seen on waves divisible by 7.

Spaceships

The spaceships’ main objective is to supply support to the robots. While patrolling the area, the spaceships will strategically beam down automatic turret cannons to increase the pressure on the player. Each spaceship can spawn up to 6 turrets. The spaceships are only spotted during waves divisible by 9.

Turrets

Spawned by the spaceships, this stationary turret cannon automatically rotates to target the player. Ammunition is manufactured by the turret through nucleonic osmosis, an unpredictable process. Once a round has been fabricated, it is loaded into the turret automatically and a projectile is fired. If the projectile misses initially, don’t take your eyes off it — the projectile has the ability to ricochet off the surrounding boulders. Projectiles can be destroyed if the player accurately aims and fires a laser gun.

Mines

At the beginning of each wave, the enemy robots plant landmines throughout the area. With these mines on the field, the players must constantly be aware. The mines are able to be destroyed, but the player must be up close to defuse it with a well-placed laser shot. Clever players are able to lead a robot into a mine — to its destruction.

Humans

After crashing, the human survivors are scared and lost. They run in a panic around the area. Your goal is to save as many as you can. At all costs, you must save the humans before the Brains infect the humans and turn them into Progs — a fate worse than death.

Progs

The heartbreaking outcome when a human is infected by a Brain. Sadly, the pitiful Progs are unable to be saved and will hunt you down. Progs can be distinguished by their un-human-like noises and zombie-like motions. Warning – they are not slow!

Mondo

Luckily, this giant enemy robot is no longer fully operational. He had fallen during a previous adventure, and only his head seems to be operational. Mondo’s face screen can take input from the player’s laser gun. After a 3-letter player identification pin is entered, Mondo displays previous pin scores with numerical values associated. Mondo is also able to be rebooted to restart the chase.
